PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION 2010

We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2010 Otterham & St Juliot Hall Photographic Competition to raise funds towards the cost of the new Hall. As in previous years there is no entrance fee with the funds to be raised during the Photo Exhibition and from the sale of a 2011 calendar to be produced using thirteen of the photographs entered. To help you decide which photos you like the best Cream Teas will be on sale and a Raffle will be held. The rules are very simple - anyone may enter up to four photographs on any topic providing it was taken within a seven mile radius of the Hall, as shown shaded pink below, and must be your own photograph. This covers an area from the top of Widemouth Bay in the north down to Brown Willy in the south and from just east of Clubworthy in the east to Tintagel Head in the west. The Hall Committee reserves the right to reduce the number of entries per person if more than 120 photos are received.

Map 7 mile radius from Hall.

Entries will be displayed in an exhibition to be held in the Hall from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on 19th September 2010 when the winners will be decided by a public vote during the exhibition. Thirteen images will then be used for the calendar. The prizes will be two copies of the calendar to the photographer whose photograph is voted to be the best and one copy to the photographer whose photograph is voted to be next best, unless that photographer shall have won the first prize, in which case the second prize will be awarded to the next different photographer working down the final order.

Prints or digital images may be submitted but must be in landscape format, not portrait. Prints should be at least 7" x 5" whilst digital images must be unmodified, though cropping is allowed - don't worry if they are large size files! For display and voting purposes, digital images entered for the competition will have prints produced from them, so if you prefer to do this yourself then please feel free to do so.

Opening date for entries is 1st April 2010. These should be sent to:
Photo Comp., Trenoweth, Marshgate, Nr Camelford, Cornwall PL32 9YN
to arrive by 4th September 2010 please.

By entering the competition you are agreeing to the use of your photograph(s) for the production of the calendar.

Please affix to the back of the photograph (or digital media case) a note of your name, address, telephone number (e-mail address if you have one), date and the exact location where the photograph was taken.

If you would like to have your photograph/digital media returned, please enclose a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage applied.

This fund-raising event is supported by: Barclays Bank
